AGCO GSI Won GreenFeed’ s Pig Farm Megaproject

On 25th September, GreenFeed Vietnam JSC signed a contract with AGCO GSI (Malaysia) to build farm infrastructure, including a farm system, cooling system and an automatic feeding system for pig breeding.

The contract was issued by GreenFeed, Vietnam’s high-tech pig breeding project in Bihn Thuan Province, with a total investment of US$ 25 million, raising 60, 000 units of market hog and 5000 units of sow. By the end of 2018, this project is expected to provide safe pork products to the market.

GreenFeed’s objective is to develop the value chain of animal breeding, provide quality feed to animal husbandry and slaughter, and to be the leader in cost reduction in raising pigs from VND34,000 per kg to below VND30,000 per kg.

GreenFeed plans to develop this model of pig breeding among a large number of farmers.

Lanka Livestock 2017

Sri Lanka had its first International Feed, Livestock and Animal health Exhibition on the 20th of July to the 22nd of July, 2017. AGCO GSI (Malaysia) collaborated with our dealer, Bodum Engineering Solutions (PVT) LTD in the participation of this event.

Hosted by the National Livestock Development Board, and opened by a respected and honorable guest, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, LANKALIVESTOCK’ 17 is the premiere congregation platform for suppliers of agriculture, feed and livestock production equipment and supplies to meet farmers, plantation owners, feed producers, veterinarians, processors and integrators in the fast-growing Sri Lanka livestock market. As the leading poultry and swine equipment expert, AGCO GSI (Malaysia) utilized this valuable opportunity to show our forward-thinking complete integrated solutions.

This event came with a great opportunity to present and promote our innovative technology, systems and equipment to the public. The reaction of the crowd throughout this event was indeed fruitful and positive.

All You Need to Know about R-Value in 5 mins

R-Value is a measurement of resistance to heat flow throughout a given thickness of material; the higher the R-Value, the greater the resistance.

It is the overall of an insulation material to resist (retard) heat flow, taking into account both the thermal conductivity (K value) and the thickness of an insulation material. It is used to calculate overall heat transmission coefficients and is expressed as m² ºK/W.

What does R-Value mean to your farm business?
Livestock need an optimal living environment to grow. Structure with Higher R-Value insulation will maintain farm house temperature at a comfortable zoon much better, and maximize energy savings, which brings a better productivity. That’s why GSI building crafted its structure with top heat resistance profile, for example the ceiling and sidewalls with a standard R-Value as high as 12 (higher R value is optional upon customer request).

“Ventilation Essentials for Swine Close House System” Sharing

GSI Malaysia shared “Ventilation Essentials for Swine Close House System” to local producers

We had a great interactive seminar organized by Federation of Livestock Farmers’ Association of Malaysia (FLFAM) of Malaysia held in both Melaka and in Ipoh on the 8th and 9th of March 2017. We were invited to share experiences on “Essential close house ventilation”.

We managed to share about important criteria of close house ventilation system, benefits of our drop ceiling, and also ways to reduce utility
consumption. We also had the opportunity to have 1 to 1 consultations with farmers and farm owners.

The end result for this seminar was very positive. We received a lot of good responses and feedbacks. This seminar also helped build some momentum for the VIV Event. The event was a great success and we look forward to meet our customers in the next location.


Modern Swine Farm Education for Malaysian Veterinary Officials

AGCO GSI MALAYSIA Played an Important Role in Modern Swine Farm Education for MY Veterinary Officials

As the world’s leading expert in modern agricultural solution, our team was invited to present on Closed House System technological application in modern swine farming at Institut Pengurusan Veterinar, in Kajang on 29th of March 2017. The talk was attended by DVS officials, Swine Division Malaysia nationwide, and we were proud to play a role in Malaysian modernizing swine farming.

We shared key points to achieve good ventilation that allows better performance that helps reduce mortality rate of livestock. We also shared on factors that affect the utility consumption rates and how proper house designs with air tight features are able to reduce such consumption.

We concluded the seminar by highlighting the importance of ventilation that helps increase production. The right ventilation methods need to be
considered for different stages of pig production. For example, End-to-end ventilation is much more suitable for gestation and farrowing houses.

AGCO GSI Dominated VIV Asia 2017

VIV Asia is one of the biggest agriculture exhibitions in Asia region, gathering over 900 brands from all over the world. AGCO GSI is proud to participate in this event, showcasing our innovative driven technology. In addition, this is our first time since acquisition of C-lines, TECNO and Farmer Automatic by AGCO, and presented in VIV 2017 as one big family. We occupied 240 sqm in total over three booths, projecting a domineering presence at the show.

AGCO GSI utilized 120 sqm booth to demonstrate both poultry and swine products in three distinctive sections. At the poultry side, we featured Cumberland’s feeding and watering line, controllers, alarms and flooring; at the swine side we focus on drop feeders, stainless steel feeder, flooring and planking. Lastly we have cages from Farmer Automatic and  genset from AGCO Power.

GSI booth received continuous visitors throughout the show. The visitors showed very positive reactions towards our products.

The Hi-Lo Plus feeding pan drew a lot of attention because of its intelligent functionality offered throughout entire poultry production cycle with its convenient feeding level adjustment. The EDGE controller is crowded with visitors for its forward-thinking design, practical and powerful ability, and thoughtful user-friendly. Stainless steel feeder also received thumbs-up from visitors for its simplicity, durable material and sturdy craftsmanship.

VIV Asia 2017 was definitely a success. We appreciate all our visitors’, staffs, and contractors that made this event  memorable and great.

AP’s all new HI2LO Feeder

  • Stand-by Power Generation

When used as stand-by power system, the automatic generating sets start providing electricity in less than 10 seconds from power grid failure and stop automatically once the electricity in main grid is reliable again.


  • Prime Power Generation

Generating sets are typically used for Prime power generation in locations where there is main grid available. Generating set may even be more cost-effective solution than a new power connection to a remote location.


  • Peak Shaving

Power failure is very common and some of the reasons for the problem are lightning strikes, fallen tree, flooding, fallen poll, construction or hurricanes. Power failure in the poultry and swine farm can cause massive livestock losses to the farmers within a short period of time. Although curtains may drop automatically during power failure to allow air coming into the farmhouse, sometimes it is insufficient for the livestock especially swine. A sudden grid power failure can cause severe losses from both mortalities and reduced performance of the poultry and swine as they could not cope with the drastic temperature changes properly. If the power grid fails, the power station must step up immediately as constant source of power is critical. Hence, more and more businesses around the world are looking for power generators to satisfy their primary and standby power requirements.  The best way to ensure reliable and continuous power supply is with AGCO Power’s GENSETS.


The AG-series power generator includes six generator sets in the power range of 60-250kVA to suit the needs of every farmer. The generators are available as open models for machine rooms and equipment shelters or as canopy, ready-to-use models. The vast array of control functions are easily accessed through InteliLite and InteliGen control units so that farmers can have a better control on the GENSET. To set up the GENSET, farmers need to have an installation plan for mechanics and electricity uses. Farmers need to decide on the location to place the power generator whether it is in the farmhouse or outside of the farmhouse. For indoor units, it is usually an open unit. The area should have proper ventilation, inlet, outlet and recirculation if necessary. For outdoor units, the power generator is typically sound attenuated enclosure models. All the cable routes and installations are done by certified contractor to ensure the safety of the farm.

To choose the right power generator size for your farm, the generating set power must exceed the required power of total load it is supplying. The best way to check the total load is to have a list of all equipments with loads and select the required power rating. A rough estimate is:

  • AG60 (87 A) fits locations with fuse sizes 3×63 A to 3×100 A
  • AG90 (130 A) fits locations with fuse sizes 3×100 A to 3×160 A
  • AG110 (159 A) fits locations with fuse sizes 3×125 A to 3×160 A
